EN - ANATOMY OF SPACE
Limited edition fine art print — only 15 prints available.
Form as presence.
Absence as structure.
The body as space.
Anatomy of Space explores the relationship between physical form and the void created between forms. Pale sculptural surfaces emerge against deep black, surrounding a central opening that becomes the true visual centre of the image.
The photograph moves between body, sculpture and abstraction, transforming a familiar gesture into an ambiguous architectural structure.
Where the body becomes architecture
The composition is built around four hands and the space they create between them. Their overlapping forms generate an almost monumental structure, while the central void introduces a contrasting sense of depth and fragility.
The image does not ask the viewer to identify the hands individually.
It asks the viewer to observe what happens between them.
White becomes volume.
Black becomes depth.
The space between becomes form.
The anatomy of absence
The tactile surfaces of the hands retain the physical presence of the body, but their original function gradually disappears. Fingers, curves and joints become elements of a larger abstract construction.
The central opening may suggest different forms depending on how it is perceived: architectural, organic, anatomical.
Nothing is fully declared.
The ambiguity is part of the image.
Between body and abstraction
Part of the Abstract / Visual Research series, Anatomy of Space investigates how the human body can become material for a visual structure rather than a portrait or narrative subject.
The photograph is concerned less with identity than with relationships: pressure, proximity, volume, light and negative space.
The body becomes architecture.
The gesture becomes composition.
